[ There's no need to confirm that she's on her way. She knows William is on his way. He's dependable.
Instead she arrives at the courtyard and fully expects to already see him there. Perhaps he's been waiting all along, or maybe their timing is simply on point. It's not something she needs to overthink, but rather a happiness she can take in despite their atmosphere. ]
[ William's seated on a stone bench built with a much larger body in mind, his court-correct posture in disarray: one leg idly swinging, body propped up against an arm. When he looks up, she's there. Just like that. ] Miriam. [ The false name almost melts with the warmth of his voice.
He scoots over, not that it's necessary. ] How are you?
First of all, pardon me for sending a message without being properly acquainted.
On the recommendation of Commander Grothia, I was advised to contact you. If you have any interest in attending the more courtly affairs of Jhashch, then I would be interested in attending with you. Because of my status as both male and a magical being, it does make attending these events somewhat tricky, but I can say with certainty that I have considerable skill at navigating the social graces and situations demanded at these events.
If you have no interest, I do understand, but I did wish to do my due diligence in reaching out. Also, if nothing else, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance in the event that we are to work alongside each other in the future. If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask, since I do realize that reaching out in this way may be somewhat unconventional.
I am glad to hear it. To say that etiquette becomes complicated when in the company of such diverse times and peoples is something of an understatement.
The Commander did give me a particular direction, though it is something of a longer pursuit. I doubt the Twin Generals will be inclined to share their loyalties with outsiders. Though if I may (and with apologies for being so blunt), where do you fall in terms of Aranean society?
Wonderful. Two magical folk may cause a bit more attention than is ideal, so I wanted to be certain. Though if I may, out of curiosity, how did Her Majesty strike you in your exchange? I did not want to overstep any bounds by approaching her, but I admittedly curious about her.
Nothing overt, which is the best I can hope for, all things considered. I have certainly caught a hungry gaze or two, but it does not bother me too terribly.
A friend of yours, @LOUISLAMOUR, suggested I come this way to ask for your opinion. I picked up a scarab recently, not sure what it does. I'm open to angles.
Most people introduce themselves before asking for favors.
[ She's not so inclined to trust the network so easily after what William has told her. Nevermind that he's so inclined to pick at thoughts and ideas and is sometimes determined to solve them himself-- she worries sometimes. ]
I was a horse, galloping over the desert. The sand was bloody. Old blood, baked in. Sweat flung from my body. It was like a bellows when I breathed.
From a distance—my vision was split in half, an eye pointed in either direction—and from a distance I could almost see a pattern in the blood. I thought if I could only make them converge...
I never blinked. The sun above me was dying.

@SPIRITFINGERS
wanted to let you know that i'm alive
which i realize is unremarkable in itself but i did have a spectacular win in the stadium
currently on bedrest and accepting flowers
no subject
But thank you for letting me know. It'd be mighty fine to hear that story someday.
While there is a shortage of flowers, it seems, I did learn about these pictures from one of the recruits. They'll do in a pinch.

but not as special as those flowers, couldn't be better if you picked them from the garden yourself
i'd be happy to tell you the story, what would you like to know?

I'm glad you like them. You can tell me when I visit.
I have something for you.

i am hopelessly intrigued. when would you like to visit? it isn't as if i'm going anywhere but i would like to at least be awake for you
